AGAINST (+) This report follows up on the Commission Communication on ‘A European Strategy for Low-Emission Mobility’ which proposes legislative and non-legislative initiatives to accelerate the pace of the shift towards low-emission mobility. Among other things, it touches upon the following points: (i) the Commission should introduce minimum targets for the share of zero-emission cars; (ii) an increased digitalisation of transport systems and vehicles to improve efficiency; and (iii) an extension of distance-based road charging system to passenger cars and vans. These are all reds lines for the DPP-Delegation as it strongly believes that that the EU Member States must be free to organise the road transport themselves. The DPP could therefore do nothing but reject the report.
